APPLICATION & FABRIC REQUIREMENTS
Start with the trim position, attachment seam and relaxed garment dimensions, then define the required rib appearance and feel.
Identify the rib construction and yarn details on the incoming sample. Mark the direction of the ribs, the face and reverse, and the section from which a test piece is taken. Keep the sample in a stated relaxation condition so that later dimensional observations refer to a comparable fabric state.
A finished trim width cannot by itself describe the underlying fabric. Keep the recorded knitting arrangement, yarn-feed information and relevant cylinder/dial setup observations with the trial. Use the agreed inspection method to compare visible lines, uneven rib definition and differences between the two surfaces.

Release the construction record, labelled swatch and dimensional results together. If a collar or cuff does not meet the agreed brief, identify the affected condition before changing the trial.
