Compare garment shape, opacity, surface appearance and next-to-skin hand before defining a lightweight knit brief.
A single-jersey inspection starts with an identified knitted sample, not the garment silhouette. Label the yarn lot, construction and sample orientation. Mark the fabric face, reverse, wale direction and course direction so that a later measurement or photograph can be compared with the same part of the structure.
Agree which observations concern greige fabric and which concern the finished sample. Width, mass per unit area and dimensional change need a stated preparation and finishing history. Do not combine a newly cut greige measurement with a relaxed or washed finished result and call the difference a machine setting.

Keep the accepted swatch, measured record and finishing description together. If a result changes, repeat the relevant comparison with an identified sample before revising the production plan. Review the available single-jersey equipment against this record and the required garment outcome.
